On this expedition, students will
Immerse themselves in Spanish culture via language, food, music, dance, economic practice and daily living within the infamous Canary Islands.
Explore the cobblestoned streets of the small coastal villages of the island — venture into markets, eat delicious local cuisine and experience authentic Spanish culture while exploring the cultural city centers of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de la Laguna.
Spend quality time with locals living at a farm retreat in a small mountain village and have endless opportunities to develop Spanish language skills.
Continue developing interpersonal and independent skill-sets by traveling abroad with Headwaters teachers and peers.

Lodging
The research base will be a retreat center on the hillside of Tenerife. Bedrooms and bathrooms will be shared (2-4 students per bedroom, gender specific). Three vans will be used for group transport. The retreat center has a pool to relax in at the end of our long days hiking the trails, a ping-pong table, giant outdoor chess set and more!

Program fee: $3,100
Airfare: $950
Once students arrive at the airport in Tenerife all costs are covered by the program fee except souvenirs and personal spending.
Essential passport Information
Passports renewals are currently taking 4+ months. Please check your student’s passport expiration date. The passport needs to be valid for 6 months from the date of the trip. If a passport needs to be renewed please make sure to apply for expedited processing immediately. If you are unsure if the passport will arrive on time we encourage you to pay for travel insurance as there are no refunds within 45 days leading up to the trip.
